Yangon – Golden Rock – Mawlamyaing – Hpa.an – Bago – Yangon

Day 01  Yangon – Arrival ( Car )

Welcome at Yangon International Airport. Transfer and check in at the hotel. Orientation tour Yangon if time permits. Visit the colonial area, Sule Pagoda – the landmark of Yangon City Centre, Chaukhtatgyi Reclining Buddha Image – 72 meters long huge colossal image. Finally, visit to Shwe Dagon Pagoda – one of the wonder of the world. Overnight at Yangon.

Day 02 Yangon – Golden Rock  ( Car + Truck )

In the morning, drive to Kyaikhtiyo (176 km, ~ 4 hr). You will arrive at Kimpun base camp and be driven-up by open truck (1½ hr) to the camp of Yathe Hill (OR) driven-up till to mountain summit.
If you stop at Yathe Hill, from there, you have to walk up to the mountain summit ( 1 hr). And visit Kyaikhtiyo (Golden Rock), which is perched on a rock 1100 meters above sea level. Visit Golden Rock pagoda & surrounding mountains nearby. Overnight at hotel.

Day 03 Golden Rock – Mawlamyaing  ( Truck + Car )

In the morning, trek down (~45 min) to Yathe hill (OR) driven-down till to Kimpun Base Camp by open truck (1 hr).  If you walk down to Yathe hill, you have to take open truck to climb down (½ hr) to Kimpun Base Camp and then drive to Mawlamyaing . And arrive in Mawlamying, transfer to hotel check in. After that, visit the Seindone Minbaya Kyaung, a wooden structure originally was the residence where King Mindon’s queen sought refuge. Later it became a monastery, so is named after the queen. Visit Mahamuni Pagoda, built in typical Mon style, with covered walkways linking the various square shrine buildings.  Afternoon we will also pay a visit to Taung Waing Pagodas where all can see Buddha image and 500 holy monks’ followers’ statues exit. Continue visit to Kyaikthalan Pagoda on a ridge of a hill, overlooking the town and offering a great refreshing view. Overnight at hotel in Mawlamyaing.

Day 04 Mawlamyaing – Hpa.an ( Car )

After breakfast, drive visit to Hpan An, the capital of Kayin State. The road abounds with rich local life and scenic landscape. On the way you can visit Sadan Cave (there had rock, slop rock fountains) and Kawgoon Cave – an invaluable cultural heritage questionably dates back to 7-AD. Then, visit is made in this small town and continues to KyaukKaLatt which is a small rock hill formed look like a wine glass.  Afternoon, visit to Lumbini Garden with thousands of Buddha images at the base of Mt. Zwekabin. Late evening, drive back to Mawlamyine. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at Mawlamyine.

Day 05 Hpa.an  ( Car )

After breakfast in your hotel, your tour guide will take you to Lumbani Garden & Mount Zwekabin: the tallest of a chain of limestone-mountains, 2372 feet is crowned by a stupa, said to contain a hair of the Buddha. It’s a long walk to the top so we recommend an early start. If you arrive by 11am you can witness the feeding of the mountain’s monkeys. The mountain boasts fantastic views over the Kayin country-side. Later on visit to Kawgone Cave; eight miles south of Hpa-An, the hidden gallery of 7th Century artwork within the cave. Thousands of Buddha images and carvings line the walls and roof of the cavern. The pagoda was first recorded in 1893 in an Archaeological survey of India Report. One headless carving of an elegant torso is believed to represent a queen who donated some images to the cave pagoda. Saddan Cave; this breathtakingly huge cavern contains a pagoda near the entrance with many Buddha images. Visit another famous cave in Kayin State; Yathe Pyan (Hermit) Cave and return to Hotel. In the evening, dinner at your hotel and overnight at Hotel in Hpa An.

Day 06 Hpa.an – Bago – Yangon

Early morning, drive back to Yangon and on the way visit the Bago, visit to Kya Khat Wai Monastery to observe one of the three largest Monasteries in the country and the Buddhist monastic life, visit the magnificent Shwe Maw Daw ; over 2,000 years old temple. Have lunch at a local Restaurant and after lunch, Shwe Thar Lyaung (The reclining Buddha); 55 meters long and dating back 994 AD. Mya Thar Lyaung (The Colossal Reclining Buddha Image which was recently restored). Famous Kal-yar-ni Sima (Ordination Hall) with 10 huge Stone inscriptions. And Kyaik-Pun four huge seated Buddha Images in the open air. Late afternoon, drive back to Yangon. Dinner and overnight at the Hotel in Yangon.

Day 07 Yangon – Departure 

After breakfast, day at leisure until transfer to airport for International departure flight..
